The Peace Team
The team, consisting of eight Israeli and Palestinian young women and men, has been invited to compete in the Football for Hope Festival to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa in July 2010 – parallel to the FIFA World Cup.
Our team has been selected from a very impressive group of young apprentice coaches who have graduated from the "Twinned Peace Sport Schools" Program. This unique program, established by the Peres Center for Peace, has produced a group of young adults with a passion and strong dedication towards the goals of the program. We are proud to promote the team and their desire to serve as young ambassadors for peace and as role models for both their younger peers and the international community.
The participation of the Peace Team will be an inspirational opportunity to demonstrate, on one of world's greatest stages, how Israelis and Palestinians can overcome conflict and hostility and build positive and cooperative relations.
